Best Practice: Getting the Most from Psychology Tracking

Psychology tracking works only when it is part of your daily routine. Trandence gives you several ways to capture that context: readiness scores before the session, Quick Checks after the session, Symbol Report notes, tags, and behavioral badges across your trades.

The goal is not to label yourself as emotional. The goal is to see which states and habits consistently affect your execution.

1. Score Readiness Before The Session

Before you trade, open your Daily Plan and score three areas from 1 to 5:

  • Mental readiness: Focus, emotional control, and decision quality.
  • Physical readiness: Sleep, energy, and physical condition.
  • Market readiness: Whether the current market context fits your plan.

Trandence uses those scores to help you frame risk before the session. If readiness is poor, the best decision may be to reduce risk, simplify the plan, or skip trading.

2. Complete Quick Checks After The Session

After the session, use the post-market Quick Checks to score:

  • Execution quality
  • Risk control
  • Plan adherence

Do this even on green days. A profitable day with poor discipline can be more dangerous than a small red day that followed the plan.

3. Use Tags And Notes Honestly

Symbol Reports give you space to record mistake tags, regular tags, and reflections. Use them to capture the context that raw P&L cannot explain.

Common notes worth tracking include:

  • Chased after the move had already happened
  • Moved or ignored the planned stop
  • Took an unplanned trade
  • Added size for emotional reasons
  • Continued trading after the daily plan no longer applied

A review is only useful if it is honest. If you hide the mistake from the journal, you hide the pattern from yourself.

4. Watch Behavioral Badges As Signals

Trandence can show behavioral badges for patterns such as revenge trading, desperation entries, euphoria, revenge sizing, and catastrophic averaging. These badges are controlled through Behavior Settings and can appear in Trades, Calendar, charts, Dashboard, and period insights.

Use them as prompts, not as labels. When a badge appears, ask what was happening before the trade and what you would do differently next time.

At the end of the week, review Dashboard Analytics, Calendar period insights, and your completed Daily Plans.

Look for repeat patterns:

  • Does poor readiness line up with worse execution?
  • Are unplanned trades concentrated on certain days or symbols?
  • Do behavioral badges appear after losses, wins, or low-quality periods?
  • Is fee drag or giveback worsening when discipline weakens?

The win is not perfect psychology. The win is catching the pattern early enough to change the next plan.
