Questrade

Trandence supports two ways to import your trades from Questrade: Automated Direct API Sync (recommended) or Manual CSV File Export.

Option 1: Automated Direct API Sync

Automated sync links your Questrade account directly to Trandence using a personal API Refresh Token. Trandence manages ongoing token rotation, supports multiple subaccounts (TFSA, RRSP, Margin), and automatically converts CAD trades to USD.

1. Generate a Refresh Token in Questrade

  1. Log in to your Questrade web portal.
  2. Go to App Hub → Partner / Personal Apps.
  3. Create a personal app (or open an existing one) and generate a Refresh Token.
  4. Copy the single-use token.

2. Connect in Trandence

  1. In Trandence, open Broker Sync from the sidebar.
  2. Click Connect Questrade.
  3. Paste your Refresh Token into the input field and click Connect Questrade.
  4. Trandence will verify the token, discover your accounts, and establish the connection.
  5. If you have multiple accounts, select which accounts (e.g., Margin, TFSA, RRSP) you want to include in trade synchronization.

Option 2: Manual CSV File Export

If you prefer exporting CSV files from Questrade IQ Edge:

Exporting from IQ Edge

  1. Open IQ Edge, click Tools at the top menu, then click Account.
  2. Right-click the Orders tab and select Edit Columns.
  3. Select all available columns and click OK.
  4. Click Range to select your date range.
  5. Right-click on Orders again and click Export… to save the file.

Uploading to Trandence

  1. Open Trandence and go to Trades → Import Trades → Upload CSV/TXT.
  2. Select Questrade as the broker.
  3. Choose your timezone (America/New_York) and upload your file.
  4. Review the parsed trades and click Import & Review Summary.

What Trandence Reads

Trandence imports executed equity trades (Symbol, Action, Fill qty, Fill price, Time placed, Total fees). Canadian Dollar (CAD) transactions are automatically converted to USD at the exchange rate on the trade execution date.
