Calendar chart review tools help you connect the trade list for a selected day with the price action, execution markers, behavioral context, and notes you want to keep for later review.

Open Calendar, select a day with trades, then use the Price Action and P&L Over Time charts in the selected-day panel.

When Charts Appear

Charts appear only when the selected Calendar day has trades. Days without trades show an empty state instead of stale chart data.

When a day includes trades, Calendar groups them by symbol. The chart symbol selector shows each traded symbol with its trade count, and the first available symbol is selected automatically when the day loads.

Changing the selected symbol updates:

  • the price action chart
  • the P&L chart
  • execution markers
  • saved chart lines for that date and symbol
  • the Symbol Report link context

Price Action Chart

The Price Action chart loads market bars for the selected symbol and date range. For normal day trades, the chart focuses on the selected session. For swing trades, Calendar expands the range to cover the holding period; open swing trades can extend through the current date.

The chart shows:

  • candlesticks for the selected symbol
  • buy, sell, short-sell, and buy-cover execution markers
  • optional indicators
  • optional behavioral markers
  • optional support, resistance, and key-level overlays
  • user-drawn annotations

The chart emits its loaded bars to the P&L chart so both charts stay aligned during review.

Timeframes

Calendar limits timeframe choices based on the trade duration so the chart stays readable.

Trade durationAvailable timeframes
Up to 1 day1 min, 2 min, 5 min
Up to 5 days5 min, 15 min
Up to 30 days30 min, 1 hour
Longer than 30 days1 hour, 1 day

If the current timeframe is no longer valid after switching symbols or date range, Calendar selects the first valid timeframe automatically.

Indicators

The current Calendar indicator selector supports:

  • SMA 9
  • SMA 20
  • VWAP

VWAP is selected by default. Use the indicator selector to add or remove overlays without changing the stored trade data.

Behavioral Tags

Use the behavioral tag toggle to show or hide behavioral markers on the Price Action and P&L charts.

Current chart markers can include:

  • Revenge Sizing
  • Time-based Revenge
  • Desperation Entry
  • Euphoria
  • Catastrophic Averaging

These markers come from the behavioral analysis rules and your behavior settings. Hiding them only changes the chart display; it does not remove tags from trades or reports.

S/R And Key Levels

Use the S/R and key levels toggle to show or hide automatically computed context lines.

Depending on the available bars and trade type, overlays can include:

  • pre-market high and low
  • opening range high and low
  • previous close
  • previous regular-hours high and low
  • detected support and resistance levels with touch counts

For swing trades, Calendar uses the full holding period for support and resistance context and skips intraday-only levels when they are not meaningful.

Drawing Tools

Use the drawing tools menu to annotate the chart during review.

Available tools:

  • Horizontal line: mark a price level.
  • Trend line: mark a sloped support, resistance, or momentum line.
  • Arrow: point to a specific move or execution area.
  • Text annotation: add a note directly on the chart.
  • Delete annotation: remove one annotation from the chart.
  • Clear all lines: remove every user-drawn annotation for the current symbol view.

After you use a drawing tool once, Calendar returns the tool to idle mode. Text annotations can be confirmed with Enter or cancelled with Escape.

Saving Chart Lines

Chart annotations are saved per selected date and symbol in the Symbol Journal record. When lines change, Calendar shows a save button with an unsaved indicator.

Click Save chart lines before switching away if you want the annotations to persist. Saving chart lines updates only the chart-line portion of the Symbol Journal, so you do not need to open the full Symbol Report just to preserve review markings.

When you return to the same date and symbol later, Calendar reloads the saved chart lines automatically.

P&L Over Time

The P&L chart shows the selected symbol’s cumulative P&L over time, using the same loaded bars and execution data as the Price Action chart.

Use it to compare:

  • where entries and exits happened on the price chart
  • when realized P&L expanded or gave back
  • whether behavioral markers happened before the P&L change
  • whether one execution or a sequence of executions drove the result

Zoom changes are shared between Price Action and P&L, so narrowing one chart keeps the review window aligned on the other.

Full-Screen Review And Snapshots

Use the full-screen button when you need more room for detailed annotation. Full-screen review keeps the same symbol selector, timeframe selector, indicators, behavioral tag toggle, S/R toggle, drawing tools, and saved line behavior.

The snapshot button is available in full-screen mode. It exports the current chart view as a PNG named with the selected symbol, such as AAPL_snapshot.png. Browsers with the File System Access API can show a save dialog; other browsers fall back to a direct download.

What Chart Tools Do Not Change

Chart controls do not change your stored trades. They do not edit fills, P&L, commissions, tags, or playbooks. The only saved user data from this workflow is the chart annotation list for the selected date and symbol.

For deeper trade notes, open the related Symbol Report. For day-level review, open the Day Report from Calendar.

Need Help?

If a chart does not load, confirm that the selected day has trades for that symbol and try another timeframe. If saved lines are missing, check whether they were saved before switching symbols or leaving the page.
